Reviewing clinical documentation and applying appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for billing, the full-time Certified Outpatient Coder will work remotely to ensure compliance and optimize reimbursement while resolving billing errors and assisting with documentation queries. Key responsibilities Abide by coding standards and guidelines while maintaining a 95% accuracy rate in coding tasks Perform detailed reviews of inpatient records to identify and assign diagnosis and procedure codes Assist physicians and clinical staff with coding reimbursement issues and documentation improvement opportunities Required qualifications Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or equivalent required Associate degree in Health Information Management is required At least 2 years of coding experience in a hospital or multi-specialty physician practice preferred Full CPC certification must be obtained within 24 months if holding a CPC-A at hire Homecare Diagnosis Coding Specialist (HCS-D) certification required within 16 months of hire for homecare roles
